Defender Cat

Hello!

I'm so hungry, feed me now... oh wait this is my blog... uh... ok here's some updates on my new episode and my shout-outs to all my fans.

So my latest episode is called "Defender Cat" it's the 5th episode of Season 3.  It features one of my skills that I've been developing for the "Cat Olympics", being a goalie.  I think I'm a very good goalie for the most part and that I could make any professional sports team that would give me a try out.  The origins of "Defender Cat" date back to when I was a little kitten.  I would love to play cards with Master and unlike most cats who would take one card that's thrown and take it away and play with it, I would patiently wait for the next card to be thrown and not carry them off and continue to play with Master waiting for the next card to be thrown.  Unlike me however, Kona is a wild animal, she can't play Defender Cat because when she does she captures one card, picks it up, and takes it off like it's her prey.

Strike Demands

Hello Everyone,

I hope you really enjoyed the most recent episode "Strike Demands"

First off, I'd like to thank all of the Season 3 supporters who helped make this possible.  Without your generous support none of this would've been possible.  I now have the time I need to make "quality" episodes and release them on a bi-weekly basis instead of every 3 months.  You probably noticed that the quality in the footage for the show has increased dramatically with "Who Knows" and "Strike Demands".  That's because I was able to get a new camera lens and some camera rig equipment that helps to give shots that professional look.

I apologize for not getting the video out on Wednesday as I had hoped for.  There were some complications with the editing process that required me staying up all night working over 18 hours straight, but I was able to release it on Thursday morning as soon as it was completed.

So in this episode it starts out with Kona doing pushups on the couch, she's a wild animal and nothing seems to be slowing her down in her fevered Olympic training.

The shot with .34 seconds in of the water fountain was achieved by having the camera on a track and then stopping filming 3/4 of the way, removing the old water bowl and then placing the new water fountain in its place and moving the last 1/4 of the way on the track.  It provides a very interesting illusion of the water bowl simply disappearing and being replaced by a new water fountain.  The same effect was used for the cat stairs which Kona proudly shows off.

The bagging of fur really couldn't be capture to the full extent just how much fur was really there.  That was the left over fur of over a month of being  brushed... yes I shed a lot...

Preppy Cat CD is in and photo's are sent

Hello everyone,

The Cd's for preppy cat are in check it out!

I had a problem with my past distributor so I just decided to do it myself:)  I've already sent them out to everyone that got back to me about there paypal donation.  If you donated over $50.00 and haven't heard back from just let me know and I'll be sure to send you one:)  It was a perk I added at the end because so many fans were very generous and really wanted to see the show go on so I decided to send some complimentary Preppy Cat Cd's to them with an official "Paw Print Autographed Picture" of me and Kona.

There will be so many to thank in my upcoming episode that I'm going to have to make a thank you video just for that:)  The thank you video won't be released until Ep3 in late April because there are just that many people to thank! 

I'm working on incorporating the "Preppy Cat CD" as a fan reward on my website.  You'll be able to win it by accumulating "Preppy Points" by liking photo's that are sent in by fans and playing the video game that were working on as well.  You can see what stage of the N2 pic o' the day were on here at "N2 Pic o' the Day"  We're really close to having it completed and should have it up in the next couple weeks hopefully:)

Season 3 Saved and Who Knows Behind the Scenes and Bloopers

Hello everyone,

I'm proud to let you know that we reached our fundraiser goal for Season 3!  It came down to the very last hour but some very generous donations came in from our SUPER fans.

Now that the fundraiser is complete and the goal has been reached creating video's and everything N2 will be my new job and it's all because of you and your help:)

I'm planning on releasing a video on VersaBC every 2 weeks which will be a BIG improvement over the past year where we had episodes about every 2-3 months.   I also plan on having behind the scenes and bloopers to all of my video's released on my other channel n2thetalkingcatstuff every week as well

Thank you so much for helping me make my dream become a reality, we're going to have a lot of fun and work really hard for you.

The next video will be the music video for my song "Who Knows".  It deals with a subject that is very dear to my heart, which is mental health awareness.  It's inspiration came from many family, friends and even experiences I've endured in my own lifetime.  It will also deal with another subject that is very dear to my heart which is bullying in all it's forms.  As you know I deal with a little bully named Kona, but she's generally loving.  Many people however have to deal with bullies that are not loving at all and can make you feel so low that you do not know how to carry on in life.  The video will address this timely issue letting people know that pets (especially cats) can be a real source of comfort during the challenging times we all face in life, especially those who are picked on and suffer due to bullying.

Season 3 Update

Hello everyone,

There's so much to talk about since our last chat (blog) let me fill you in our progress to date.  I've been hard at work for you planning out Season 3 (S3).  The next episode will carry on the theme from S3 Ep1 Cats on strike

S3 Ep3 Roid Rage 

Kona is hard at work training for the Olympics but is starting to realize that it's a lot harder than she originally thought.  She needs to find an athletic advantage and fast.  One night while she's up watching her late night T.V. she see's an add for "Roid Rage" a new athletic performance enhancement drug that is only available for immediate order through T.V. within the next 15 minutes.  Kona decides it's exactly what she's looking for and orders her "Roid Rage", even though some of the side effects mentioned are " increased appetite, diarrhea, bad breath, B.O. LUST, and FITS OF UNBRIDLED RAGE.

Once Kona gets to training the results are amazing as she destroys her past training times, but the side effects soon kick in and make for one EPIC episode.  This truly will prove to be the funniest and best episode to date.

Another new feature making it's way to S3 is "in show interviews with cast members" similar to other popular t.v. reality series.

Website Updates

Behind the scenes of our awesome website we're been hard at work creating a whole new environment for you.  As mentioned previously we're going to have a User Login section where you will accumulate "Preppy Points" to achieve different levels of Preppiness and attain a plethora of prizes… yes I said "plethora".  Currently we've completed the User Login section where you make your "Preppy Profile" and get started, we've also been hard at work developing the "N2 Pic o' the Day" interface where you'll be able to upload your very own pet's picture and have it compete in a "like-off" against other "totally awesome, yep", pets.  As well the video game is in development as we speak and I'll be working on it as soon as the "N2 Pic O'the Day" development is completed.  Here's hoping that my webpage design will be a hip and happening place for pet owners who love there pets and want to show them off:)

Save the Show Fundraiser

Things are going quite well with the "Save the Show" fundraiser.  We have a total of 69 funders and we've reached the 45% funded point in our fundraiser.  To date we've raised a total of $2, 471 and we still have 47 days left to reach our goal of $5500.

I have faith that things will work out and I'll do my best to make things work even if we can't reach the goal.  Where there's a will there's a way and you've already inspired me enough thus far to keep chasing the dream of keeping the show alive:)

Latest N2 News on Video Game/ Fund Raiser/ Website

Well it's been a few weeks since the last time I checked in so I just wanted to update everyone on how we're coming along with our save the show efforts.  So far we've raised $1907.00 in three weeks raising 35% of our goal.


The deadline is March 28, 2013 and it appears we just may reach our goal if we can keep up this pace :)

So on my FaceBook Fan Page I've been having you fans post pictures of your cats.  I've then posted them each hour from 12pm to 10pm.  As well we have some awesome fan art that you've been posting on my wall as well.  I had no idea that you'd like it so much and that some of you would have such a positive response from other fans, with many of your pics getting over 600 likes.  So I've decided to add this as a regular section to my official website in the coming month.  Every day you will have the chance to vote every 10 mins for your fav pic.  You will be able to send in your pet pics once it's up and live.  Until that time however we've received all the pics we can handle.  Within the first week we've received 100's of pics, I've tried my best to keep up but soon realized within the first hour that I needed to pull in some extra help with this.  So my official website will soon be able to process all of your requests.  I'm creating a fan membership sign in section as well.  You'll be able to sign in and create your own profile or use your Facebook or twitter account to log in like you can with other sites that provide this option.

Every time you vote for a pet while your signed in you'll be able to accumulate "Preppy Points".  These points will add up so that you can claim all sorts of prizes like Face Time chats, phone calls, free albums, paw print autographed pics, being in a video and meeting me and Kona.  These are some of the rewards and we're looking at adding more once it gets going.  You'll be able to get lots of "Preppy Points" another way as well….. with….

MY VIDEO GAME!

My new video game will be out in a few months and you can earn all sorts of "Preppy Points" and build up your "Preppy Meter".  The video game will have Kona flying high in the air in her hover litter box.  She will need to dodge Oglogs that try to capture her and throw things like "Light Beer" at her.  Or you can also be me… oh… I mean… you can be "Super Hero Cat" and use special attributes like a Super Sonic Purr and other Preppy Powers

We're also working on another game where you'll be able to walk all around the house as me or Kona and explore all sorts of places as well as feed me, pet me, change litter, kind of like a web kin but WAYYYYY CooooLER!

I've also been hard at work writing new episodes for you, hopefully if we reach our fundraiser goal earlier than expected we can get to work on them soon.

Save the Show Info

Hello Everyone,

The fundraiser is finally here.

I'm very excited about this because it's an opportunity for the fans to come together and show how much this series has meant to them.

When I uploaded the first episode I never thought I would have touched the lives and hearts of so many people.  Many of your kind words have helped me to push on through the years continuing to make more episodes, despite my spine injury last year. You've told me how I have a way of brightening your worst day, making you smile and laugh just when you needed it.  You've mentioned that even though you can't have a cat of your own I have become your cat and you've come to love and cherish me.  Perhaps most notably, you want to know... How does Kona get rescued from the future:)

I've reached a point now however where I need to make a very serious decision.  I've sacrificed my personal savings and time to do all I can to bring you the show but reality has now set in.

Do I stick with my current full time (yes, it's true, cats have now entered the work force) job and say goodbye to the show? Or do I take the plunge and dive in releasing an N2 episode every 1-2 weeks for you?  I can no longer do both and must choose one.

If I make the commitment to leave my job and work on the show for you I will need your support.  You have always been there for me and reassured me that you would help if it ever came to this and now I'm humbly asking you for your assistance

What We Need & What You Get

In order for us to complete Season 3 and keep the show going we will need to raise $5500.00  This will allow me to work on the show for YOU releasing an episode every 1-2 weeks.  The amount of $5500.00 will provide me with $1000.00 a month for 5 months to complete Season 3. Any amount we raise above our $5500 goal will propel us into Season 4.  For every $1000 we raise over $5500 will give us an extra month to keep the show going into Season 4!

The Impact

Black cats and shelter cats carry a stigma.  Many feel that they bring bad luck or that they do not make good companions in comparison to those you could purchase from a breeder.  With your support my show will continue to raise awareness that adopted pets (especially the shunned black ones) are some of the most loving, affectionate pets you could ever own.  I'm living proof that a black shelter pet can make a difference in our society.  I believe I've  helped to shed some of this stigma and will continue to do so with your support.

Super Hero Cat - Behind the Scenes Review

Hello fans!

So far this video Super Hero Cat

has been a huge success since it's release date on July 5th 2012.  It has a total of 207,976 views so far.  It was a lot of fun to make so I decided to show you how I went about creating some of the shots, a kind of a behind the scenes if you will for all of you totally awesome fans.  Don't get it twisted that master did all the talking in this episode, I just wanted a break for a minute.  This talking thing hurts my tender feline jaw muscles as I've had to adapt from the natural meow to the complex human language and I prefer to use those jaw muscles for eating food.

In the opening part of the behind the scenes video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kL-DXUJyRXA I show how I recruit master to move all of the furniture for me to set up the green screen. I love how you can see Kona and I walking around at break neck speeds as the footage is sped up.  The green screen is essential to the shots because it helps to give the illusion that I'm floating through the air with my cape.  What master doesn't realize is that I can really fly; )

You see how messy and hard it is to navigate around the rest of the apartment when the green screen and lights are put up because they need so much room to allow me to do my N2 cat action shots!  Again I really like how you see me get up, walk around and sit back down in fast motion from 1.23-1.32.  It just shows how agile I can be when I put my mind to it.

I'm glad that master pointed out how "Kona" was the one who completely destroyed the couch because I have never done anything of that nature, I'm always such a kind and peaceful ol' chap!

When looking at the Super Hero Cat (SHC) cape you can really see how much work went into it.  The beautiful hand stitching of the emblem, the soft fabric, oh it was so awesome!  It was a lot of fun to make.  I first hand drew the idea of the cape and went through several different ideas until I picked the winner!

I then made a graphic design of the image and printed it off so it could be used as a stencil (outline) for my cape design.

I picked out all the fabric and made sure everything was the right texture and thickness at the fabric store.  One of my good friends who looks after me at times when master is away stitched it for me, she is a seamstress and did an impecable job carrying out my vision.

Once it's placed on me you see how regal and sophisticated I look, some would say hot, but I'll take cute in a pinch.  I really enjoyed receiving all of the tantalizing cat treats the most out of everything.  I got so many treats given to me that day that I had to take quite a bit of time to lie down.  Things seem to be getting more tiring in my old age.  This summer I will be 13!

I wanted to show everyone the difference in the edited shots from 3.44-4.52 as I flip between the initial green screen shots to the finished product.  As the show gains popularity we will be able to refine these fx but you get the idea of what a true SHC is capable of!

I hope you really enjoyed the episode everyone.  I had a lot of fun making it and I want to make sure that I can keep making the show for you, so please continue to help the "save the show" cause and share "Preppy Kitty Style" with as many of your friends as possible.

I've set a deadline date of February 1st to get a million views for "Preppy Kitty Style" and so far we are at 30,466 views within the first week.  If we can't get the needed number of views to support keeping the show going then I will organize a fund raiser to raise the needed amount to complete Season 3.  Let's try and get Preppy Kitty Style one million views though so we don't have to go down the fund raiser path if we can help it

Preppy Kitty Style N2 Review

Hello everyone,

I hope you all really enjoyed my newest video Preppy Kitty Style, it was a lot of fun to make.

It has been a long road in making this video and at the end master explain's why it took so long and what our plan is for the future.  Let's get to all the fun stuff first.

So the bathtub scene of Kona getting her bath was by far my favorite shot.  It was the last thing that we filmed but definitely the best.  She scampered out of the tub fairly quickly as you could see and the footage had to be slowed down to fully capture her speedy escape.

The shot of me with the sunglasses on was not my favorite shot but I tolerated it.  I don't like wearing glasses "at all" but I did it for the show.  I'm stipulating in my new contract that I will not wear any type of glasses at any time.

Kona did try to steal my dance moves and one up me but I had a lot more groove in my fury step if you watch the clip of us dancing together.

I really wanted to make this video about the fans as much as it was about me, so I had as much fan art

and awesome preppy kitty pics

that I could cram into one video.  I think this really highlights the importance of your role as fans, you're the ones that make these episodes possible and without your support the show "literally" could not go on.

I decided to chop some fruit up to show my dominance in the kitchen as a BOSS!

The catnip scene with Kona was a lot fun, I don't remember much about that shot.... where was I, oh yeah catnip, oh I love catnip so much... anyways so.... we had fun with that, it was sooooo much catnip that I felt like I was climbing up a mountain of awesomeness!

The scenes of me dancing from car to lamp post to building really highlight my athleticism.  I jumped so quickly the camera had a hard time keeping up with my totally awesome explosiveness!

I must say though, the one scene that was a little scary, was when I was dancing on the speed boat.  I really had to get a good grip on that front deck of the ship.  The helicopter flying overhead was rather intimidating as it roared past.  Ultimately I told the director I wanted it in the shot so he obliged to my "demands".  

The rhino scene went a lot better than I thought it would.  Rhino's are surprisingly docile creatures that don't seem to mind cats dancing on there backside's.  Now you may get the impression that I was excited when Kona stuck her bum in the air, you would be correct in thinking that.  I was excited in a horrified way though as you can not hear the stinky sounds she's making with each thrust she makes in the air.

Facebook has been really good to me, I have over 10, 000 likes right now because of all of you fans who've supported me on this journey, so I had to include a big shout out to the FB nation.

I did enjoy showing off many of my "skillz" as I dunk a basketball, kick a soccer ball, hold a tennis raquette and wear preppy shoes.  Those shoes are what give me the edge over most cats on the basketball court, I don't seem to slide uncontrollably over the hardwood floors with them on.  They are a "slam dunk", totally awesome, YEP!

Kona was really excited to do the elevator dance as you could see... however, we didn't have an elevator so we simply used a regular door.  It was one of the more complicated shots in the show but I thought it turned out very well.  My dancing skills have been coming along quite well as you can see I've still got the "moonwalk" moves and all the appropriate spins and turns on the floor.  

Kona totally ruined the shot of us walking towards each other by swatting at me which hurt quite a bit I must say, so I felt that it would only be appropriate to have her mocked by a young fan as she is dunked in water.

At the end of the show there's a link to a very important announcement about the show by master.

He talks about how we do not have the time any longer to keep making shows on a regular basis.  We would love to make episodes for you on a regular basis and in order to do this we need to get at least a million views for "Preppy Kitty Style" in a month to have a viral video standing.  This will help raise enough money to make the rest of season 3 in a couple months, allowing us to releasing one episode every 1-2 weeks.  If we can't get the views then we will try a fund raiser asking the fans to help out or to have people sponsor the show.  I don't want to be a burden to anyone so I would really like to see the show make it through views.

If we can't get the views, funding, or sponsors then we will probably have an episode released every 2 months.  So 12 episodes to finish S3 will take two years instead of a few months.  I've really tried to do my best to make you all happy and bring some joy to your lives through my show.  It was something I wanted to continue to do for as long as I could and I do believe that we can make this happen together. No one person will be able to do it on their own, but collectively we can all have a part in making this show a weekly treat to look forward to.

I will be releasing an episode near the end of January to let the world know how we've done and if we need to do a fund raiser or not.  Let's all come together and save the show.

There are some things in our lives that are worth looking forward to and I believe this show helps people in many ways that words can not express.  If you feel the same way please help in making Preppy Kitty Style a success and share it with everyone who you feel needs a smile

I'd like to give you a bit of a background about this episode.  I've been training really hard each night practicing my dance moves for my upcoming music video "Preppy Kitty Style" and I wanted to show the world what I have been up to.  I find it very relaxing to practice "said" moves at night when others are not as noisy.  I did turn the music a little loud that night but it was because I really got into my dance rehearsal.

This was also one of the first times master had a feature role in an episode and the response has been great.  I'm thinking he may be in a few more episodes coming up this season.

We have a lot in store for everyone this coming season.  While Kona and I are on strike we will have Graw make some guest appearances on the show.  This will mark the first time he's ever been in the present as he's always been in the future with Kona in the year 2015

There will also be another character who will make his acting debut in S3 and his name is "Batchula"
Please join me in welcoming him to the cast!

Batchula has had some trouble flying on his own so we've had to add some strings to his wings to help him get around.  I'm sure you'll love him on the show though, he and Graw will both bring an excellent dynamic.  He's actually a big reason why SHC (Super Hero Cat) was able to save Kona from the Oglogs in 2015.  Once our tuna demands are met we will be able to show everyone how SHC saved Kona.

We may actually be able to show everyone sooner as we will explain in our next blog on our kitty cat "union"

The next episode will be my "Preppy Kitty Style" official music video.  I'm hoping to get it out very soon, I don't want to say an exact date but I'm doing my best to have it out there this month.

We will also have Kona training for the Olympics and I will get a stunt double in S3.
